01/03/2011 - LEGAL MERGER OF CTO, ORTEC, CEBELOR & REYSKES INTO VIGO

On January 1st 2011 the V!go company went live on SAP ECC 6.0 as a result of the legal merger of CTO, Ortec and Cebelor, all three members of what was previously known as the Ortho group.

Based upon previous merger projects at CTO, V!go decided to take again advantage of the knowledge and experience of Opteon in converting data, including medical information, of other ERP systems into the SAP system.

The challenge consisted in:

  • Heterogeneity of the systems: 2 out of the 3 legal entities were already working on SAP but on quite different implementations, whereas the third one was running Navision.
  • From an organizational standpoint this required convergence and consolidation of the way of working of three entities which used to be competitors until a few years ago.
  • The timing of the different conversion activities represented a major challenge from a project management point of view.

The merger process was split into two main steps:

  • Optimizing and consolidating the business processes
  • Consolidating the ERP systems

During 2010 several projects have been conducted to improve the performance in the area of:

  • Supply chain & organizational structure optimization.
  • Set up of the transportation module to support the enhanced needs for follow up of the logistic flows.
  • Development of a web based quotation tool, allowing on site printing as well as direct integration with the SAP backbone system.
  • Set up of KPI’s for detailed follow up of the company processes and performance.
  • Data cleansing and harmonization prior to conversion.

Special attention has been paid to project management and to training of end users in three steps:

  • Training on the consolidated business processes
  • General SAP introduction
  • V!go specific SAP setup

Thanks to a highly motivated teams both at V!go and at Opteon assisted with solid project management provided by Threon, all these projects have been delivered within time and budget.
